It is undeniable that the battery has a lifespan and must be changed. Long-short battery life is highly dependent of how to care for the battery.
Signs of battery should be replaced, among others:
- shorter charging time
- physical battery tubby
If found these signs, most likely flying time is also reduced.
Highly recommended replacement battery using the same size and type. Sometimes the replacement battery with a larger one made to increase the flying time, in fact, flying time will not increase much, because a larger battery has a heavier weight, and keep in mind that most of the rc helicopter is not designed to have long fly time, if forced then will reduce motor life.
For medium or large size helicopters, replacing the battery is usually very easy, because there were sockets for battery. As for mini helicopters should remove battery cable to the PCB using solder and soldering the new battery again.
Better not using solder with large watts to avoid damage to components and PCBs, 25-30 watts is enough to remove and install battery cables.
Notice also not to reverse the polarity (+/-)
