Starting my aquascape

Switch from saltwater tank to freshwater aquascape, it is definitely learning from the beginning again because of very different handling. The following is a summary of learning, may be useful for who want start setup aquascape. Aquascape is not much different from the aquarium in general, just more focused on plants, whereas animals only as a complement. Quite many choices of plants that can be put into aquarium and most of it's cheap. Such as most plants, plants for aquascpe also have various types of character, so we had to adjust to the treatment that we could do, the wrong treatment will make the plants stunted or even die, the most influential is the temperature (preferably 26-28 C) and level lighting.

Small tsunami at home from my aquarium

Memories of My Marine Aquarium Fish - 4/4

(Aug 2007)

Biological filter is done, now fix the main tank. The intention to improve the upper support to make it more strong and look nice, but disaster strikes, tank ruptured, the water flooded the house, the PC is damaged because splashed by sea water. This is a pretty expensive lesson. Though the work has been made carefully, before the the work was carried out up to 30% reduction of water and has made temporary support, but careless by filling water back before the glue is completely dry.
Again forced to call a glazier to come fix the tank, the tank may be filled again after settling for 2 days. Gratefully there were no casualties from the aquarium's inhabitants, temporary all of them inside the container 70lt, which previously functioned as a replacement sump bucket. After 2 days the main tank started to fill again.

My biological filter

To improve the filter, I made a wet dry filter, with dimensions P27xL12xT105, the top using a mechanical filter to filtering crude dirt, I've made from PVC so easy to produce a rush of water such as rainwater. The second part dry filter, which is filled with bioball and not submerged in water (not been filled), only passed the rush of water only, with the goal of aerobic bacteria that live here and will neutralize the ammonia and nitrite. Next the third part is a wet filter for the completion of neutralization of ammonia and nitrite. Sump temporary use buckets of 20 liters also borrow from my mom :-p.
Later in the empty space will be filled with bioball.

(April 2007)

Feeling there is no more that can be done with the aquarium 140 liters, because my house is narrow and narrow tank too, there should be a new place that can make me free to experiment, the most reasonable choice is my mother house, so I continue  experimenting at there. March 2007 began to build a 200 liter aquarium, its details are not much different: 8cm sea sand, 5 death rock, 5 live rock, wet biological aquarium filter on the side partition, power head Ginga 1800, hang-on skimmer Jebo 180, fluorescent lamp 20wattx3, 24hrs timer for lighting.

(March 2007)

I began studying marine aquarium fish, I actually got interested since elementary school, that time I often visited a friend who has a fairly large marine aquarium, and quite varied contents. I can only admire that time, too many things that I could not possibly have a saltwater aquarium. In June 2006 I hooked again be interest, after knowing there is a seller marine fish near my home. July is my daughter's birthday and she was obsessed with fish, so I am minded to give her marine fish aquarium.
